The best Playa beach clubs, ranked.
Our working list of the Playa del Carmen beach clubs worth a daybed reservation. Ranked by service, music, food, and — most importantly — how well they hold a group of 8 to 14.

Mamita's Beach Club
The Playa institution — high energy, long lunches, daybeds steps from Calle 28.
Best forBachelorettesDay partiesFirst-time groupsThe default answer for most groups, and for good reason: the location off Calle 28 is unbeatable, the music is consistent, and the kitchen runs all day. Book a front-row daybed (rows A or B) at least two weeks ahead in high season. Saturdays peak around 3pm — arrive by 1 to settle in. The seafood platter holds up; skip the pasta.

Martina Beach Club
Polished Mediterranean, cleaner crowd, the upgrade from Mamita's.
Best forBirthdaysCouples on a group tripLong lunchesSister concept to the Italian originals and it shows in the service and the wine list. Quieter than Mamita's by two BPM, which is exactly what some groups want by day three. The truffle pizza and the branzino are both worth ordering. Daybeds are limited and they enforce the minimum spend — fair for what you get, but plan the table accordingly.

Kool Beach Club
Big-format party energy, the loudest of the three — go on Saturday or skip.
Best forBachelorettesBig groupsSaturday partiesIf the group wants the actual party — DJs, dancing on the sand, the full Playa scene — this is it. Not where you go for a calm lunch. Best as a one-afternoon stop on a longer weekend, not the daily base. Cabanas hold groups of 10+ comfortably; ask for one on the second tier for shade and a sightline to the water.

Indigo Beach
Smaller, more design-led, the locals' Sunday choice.
Best forSmaller groupsRecovery daySlower afternoonsThe under-the-radar pick — fewer daybeds, a tighter food menu, and a crowd that skews local-expat rather than tourist. Right call for a group of 6–8 that's done the big clubs and wants something more grown up. Ceviche and a bottle of rosé, three hours, done. They take walk-ins on weekdays.

Lido Beach Club
North-end calm, the Playacar-adjacent option for groups staying south.
Best forPlayacar staysQuieter groupsHotel-side easeQuieter footprint, attached to a hotel, easier service ratios than the Calle 28 cluster. Best for groups based in Playacar or south Quinta who don't want to schlep up to the main beach club row. The sunbeds are better than the daybeds here; book those instead. Food is fine, not the reason you go.
